Apple has begun rolling out iOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate and its other 2026 operating-system updates. The releases bring the overhauled Siri AI to supported devices in beta and add controls for adjusting the Liquid Glass interface’s transparency and opacity.
- Siri AI can use on-screen information and personal context from messages, email and calendars. On iPhone, it requires a model in the iPhone 15 Pro line or an iPhone 16 or later, while iOS 27 supports devices from the iPhone 11 era.
- Users must opt in and may face a waitlist. Apple says English settings are initially required and the beta is unavailable at first in the European Union and China.
- Golden Gate requires an M-series Mac and is the final macOS release supporting Rosetta for most older Intel apps, Ars Technica reports.

Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said the United States has deployed “on-orbit space control weapons” capable of defending the joint force, but disclosed nothing about their type, capabilities, testing or deployment date.
